The EU-funded TENTACLE project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting in Würzburg, bringing together leading scientists, surgeons, and medical experts from across Europe. The project aims to transform colorectal disease treatment through minimally invasive surgery, in-situ 4D bioprinting, and precision medicine, with the goal of reducing patient trauma and improving clinical outcomes.
Funded under the Horizon Europe programme with a budget of over €7 million, TENTACLE is a four-year initiative involving 10 partners from six European countries. The kick-off meeting marked an important starting point for defining project milestones, research strategies, and collaborative efforts, including discussions on integrating 4D bioprinting into endoscopic procedures and planning the roadmap toward clinical validation.
